this is how our story begins

All my life, the one constant has been good food around the dinner table. My dad, an amazing home chef, inspired our signature crispy chilli oil—a unique take on the fresh chilli oils traditionally served at yum cha. Sadly, many condiments served at yum cha these days have lost the richness and character that made those meals so special.

That's why I set out on a journey with my Dad to share our crispy chilli oil with fellow chilli lovers. It’s more than just a condiment—it’s a bridge to childhood memories and yum cha tables, a celebration of food, and a symbol of the moments shared with those we love.

We insisted on using only the freshest, locally grown Australian chillies, because nothing compares to the vibrant flavour and natural sweetness of fresh chilli. Dried chillies simply can’t deliver that juicy burst or the bright, delicate notes we love. Through slow-cooking, cold-pressed oils, and our hero ingredients, every jar captures true depth, vibrancy, and honest-to-goodness taste that sets LAO JIANG apart.

Whether drizzled over dumplings, stirred into noodles, or eaten straight from the spoon, our chilli oil brings warmth and joy to every meal.
